At last, the Winter That Refuses To End is finally giving way to the lengthening days of Spring! The winter months were busy with visits to early childhood programs and with editing last season’s Songs from the Circle shows. I presented a workshop at the VAAEYC Conference in March where I made several new contacts with whom I’ll be in touch prior to my travels to Virginia next spring. I’m looking forward to presenting a family concert at the Marion Art Center in Marion, MA on April 24. Marion Art Center received a grant from Music Drives Us for this concert, one of ten grants awarded state-wide for Mass Art Week. I’ll also be presenting a workshop, Brighten the Day with Music⁄Play, for early childhood educators in Needham, MA in early May.
I’ll be in the Boston⁄New England area throughout the spring and summer months, continuing my visits to early childhood programs and presenting family concerts in Bay State libraries (see below.) We’ll also be taping another season of Songs from the Circle at the ACMi studio here in Arlington. It’s been great fun recording these shows with the children and teachers from A Place To Grow, the early childhood program across the street from the station. You can view some of the shows from past seasons at acmi.tv (choose Watch-On-Demand and scroll through the categories to Children’s Programming) and at my YouTube channel, which you can access at hughhanley.com. I will also be scheduling my ’18/’19 school year visits this summer. If you would like to be included in these visits, please contact me via email or phone (see the Contact and Email page at the website.)Keep singing!
